"I can recommend
Eyes on Nature Expeditions safaris to anyone who wants to experience
"the African Adventure",
the luxury of the lodges, the
beauty of the country, the people
and above all a guide who will
explain everything about the
animals and their behaviour.
They made our trip a wonderful
experience". Phil

Kenya Safari ACCOMMODATION And More at
Sabuk Lodge and Cottages
Home to Simon Evans and his base for
camel safaris , Sabuk remains a
family home. Sabuk re-architected
the lodge, retaining the sense of
peace and home comforts: the open
dining room and sitting room are
welcoming, decorated with colorful
scatter cushions, an eclectic mix of
hand crafted furniture and
hand-woven rugs.
Our guest cottages are secluded;
each has a unique design,
open-fronted with generous double or
twin beds, hand carved wooden
furniture and en-suite bathrooms
with flush toilets and pressurized
hot showers.
Sabuk is known for its sumptuous
baths: cottages 4 and 5 are
particular favorites with deep stone
baths and amazing views.
You are lulled by the sight and
sound of the river day and night,
soothing and reassuring, so that you
miss it when you have to leave.
Children are very welcome at Sabuk
ACCOMMODATION s. Early mealtimes, a
baby 'look out' service and big day
beds and cushions for siestas make
this a restful haven for families on
safari.
The safari campfire stone circle lit
every night, as evening falls is a
soothing ritual at the end of the
day for children of all ages.
Sabuk Cottages works closely with
the community. The Laikipiak Maasai
share their tribal and bush craft
skills, giving fire lighting
demonstrations, tracking animal
spoor, pointing out the medicinal
and other uses of the local flora,
teaching a new way of looking at the
wilderness surrounding you.
Simon and his team have been
operating walking assisted camel
safaris for the last 20 years and
continue to do so. This age old
style of safari can be tailor-made
to suit all guests - all ages and
all levels of fitness. Walking or
riding, the choice is up to you - a
camel's back is a great vantage
point for the surrounding scenery
This is the ultimate retreat from
the rat race: no cars, no tarmac
roads, just the African bush...
Sabuk Cottages is an addictive
getaway for a couple, a group of
friends or a family... there is
space and something special for each
of you: be as active or as passive
as you choose. Guests staying at the
lodge can enjoy a taste of a full
camel safari with half and full day
bush walks with camels, led by the
trained Laikipiak Maasai Guides
across the dry-lake bed or following
the river path across the plains.
