Kicheche Laikipia Camp - 4Days /
3Nights
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to Kenya’s
largest population of Black Rhino,
considerable numbers of elephant,
cheetah, lion, leopard and plentiful
plains game. There are also a number of
rare Northern species like Grevys Zebra,
Jacksons
Hartebeest and Beisa Oryx. Kicheche is
located in the Wilderness zone of the
Conservancy and with only one bed per
1,500 acres this offers an incredibly
private experience. The Conservancy lies
on the equator and has Mt Kenya as a
stunning backdrop.
Day 1
Depart Nairobi’s Wilson airport for
your scheduled morning flight (8 am or
10:20 am) to Nanyuki. Upon arrival you
will be met and transferred to the camp
in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, your journey
time is approximately 45 minutes. Lunch
at camp then relax until afternoon tea
is served. Venture out onto the rolling
plains on your game drive to enjoy the
wonderful array of game on offer. Game
driving in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy is
a true pleasure with very few other
vehicles in the area. This evening enjoy
a sundowner drink at a scenic spot
followed by a spotlight drive back to
camp. Take a hot shower before joining
other guests for a drink around the
campfire or in our cosy lounge tent.
Dine with your hosts either under the
stars or in our adjacent dining tent.

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy We offer a
full selection of game-viewing
activities including Day Game Drives,
Night Game Drives which focus on
nocturnal species not seen on regular
day drives. Interpretative Game Walks
are another activity permitted on the
Conservancy. There is also a Lion
Tracking
program which monitors the lions of the
area (some have been collared with
receivers). As part of the program we
are
able to track the lions with a portable
satellite dish and remit the data to the
study centre. A Horse Riding excursion
is currently being set up, more details
will be made available soon. In
addition, the Wildlife Educational
Centre is interesting for both children
and adults alike, and the Chimpanzee
Sanctuary for orphaned chimps is an
excellent venue to
observe the two families and learn about
the perils facing chimpanzees in the
wild. We offer private visits to the
Sanctuary outside the normal visiting
hours.
Day 2
An early start to the day with
piping hot coffee or tea brought to your
tent. This morning take a longer game
drive and enjoy a sumptuous picnic
breakfast out in the field. Return to
camp for an al-fresco lunch and relax
afterwards observing the birdlife and
game around the waterhole. This
afternoon we will take you to the
Chimpanzee Sanctuary on a private visit.
Following some time with the chimps
continue on your evening game drive
until dusk.
The Camp
The camp consists of six luxurious
tents nestled at the foot of indigenous
forest overlooking a waterhole in the
centre of
the
Conservancy. The Camp is hosted by Andy
and Sonja Webb, a very experienced
management couple, ensuring you have a
wonderful stay at our bush hideaway.
They along with our experienced guides
will co-ordinate your activities during
your stay.
Day 3
Another early start to the day with
breakfast either at camp or whilst on
gamedrive. This morning you have the
option of going lion tracking, an
exciting activity which also assists the
Conservancy research program. Return to
camp for an al-fresco lunch and chill
out time at camp surrounded by plenty of
birdlife and game around the waterhole.
Afternoon tea followed by afternoon or
night gamedrive.
Day 4
This morning one can take an early
morning walking excursion from camp with
one of our guides and a ranger. Walk
duration and distance can be arranged to
suit your preference. Return to camp for
breakfast before departing to Nanyuki
airstrip for your flight to Nairobi
(1200 & 1230). If you are continuing
your safari from Nanyuki there are
scheduled flights to Samburu (1100) and
